OUTDOOR PLAY​

Playing outdoors has benefits for both young children and educators. Time spent outside can lead to better physical and mental health, improved sleep, and cognitive, social, and emotional gains for young children. Ensuring that outdoor play is an integral part of our program supports early learning across all domains and unleashes a whole lot of joy!
USDA FOOD PROGRAM​
​
The Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) is a federally-funded program administered by states. CACFP provides aid to child care programs for the provision of nutritious foods that contribute to the wellness, healthy growth, and development of young children. Rising Sun participates in CACFP.
PROCARE
​
Rising Sun uses the Procare app to enhance family communication and keep parents informed about their child's daily activities. The app allows staff to send real-time updates, making it easy for parents to stay connected. Families can also access photos, messages, and make payments, helping them feel more engaged in their child's experience.
YOUNGSTAR​​
YoungStar connects parents to tools and information to help them raise healthy, happy kids! Learn what to look for when selecting a child care provider; find information on early childhood education, nutrition and healthy learning environments; and discover activities that promote children’s healthy brain development.
DCF​
​
Rising Sun is a group childcare program licensed through the Department of Children and Families. DCF understands the early care and learning opportunities children receive have a big impact. They provide mandatory regulations to guide our program in providing high quality care.
BREASTFEEDING ​
​
Rising Sun is a Certified Breastfeeding Friendly Childcare Program through Outagamie County. A Certified Program in Wisconsin is a childcare facility that meets specific criteria established by the Wisconsin Department of Health Services (DHS) to support and promote breastfeeding. Rising Sun is recognized for our efforts in creating an environment that encourages and facilitates breastfeeding.
BIRTH TO THREE​
​
The WI Birth to 3 Program is dedicated to supporting children under the age of 3 who have developmental delays and disabilities, as well as their families. They provide guidance, resources, and support tailored to each child's unique needs. Their goal is not only to help your child reach their full potential but also to empower your family with the tools and knowledge needed to navigate challenges and celebrate milestones along the way.
FOX VALLEY AUTISM​

Rising Sun partners with the Fox Valley Autism Treatment Program, which provides high-quality, individualized ABA therapy to support children with autism in achieving meaningful goals. Since 1998, they’ve offered comprehensive diagnostic evaluations, evidence-based treatment, and free community training on autism awareness. Their approach is designed to help children build essential skills and promote long-term success.
CHILD CARE
RESOURCE & REFERRAL​
Rising Sun is proud to partner with Child Care Resource and Referral, a local service that supports both families and childcare programs. They help families find quality childcare options, while also providing valuable resources and training to programs. They help us in maintaining high standards for our program, ensuring we offer a safe, nurturing environment where children can thrive.
WMELS​​
​
Rising Sun Child Care offers a comprehensive and varied curriculum based on the Wisconsin Model of Early Learning Standards. The WI Model Early Learning Standards (WMELS), specify developmental expectations for children from birth through entrance to 1st grade. By aligning with these state guidelines, we create a learning environment that supports each child's growth and prepares them for future success.
PHYSICAL ACTIVITY​

At Rising Sun, we are dedicated to promoting physical activity as an essential part of children's development. Our program encourages daily movement through structured activities, outdoor play, and age-appropriate exercises that help build strength, coordination, and healthy habits. By making physical activity fun and engaging, we ensure that children develop a love for movement while enhancing their physical, social, and emotional well-being.
ORAL HEALTH

At Rising Sun, we prioritize oral health as an important part of children's overall well-being. Our program incorporates daily habits that promote healthy teeth and gums, such as teaching proper brushing techniques and providing age-appropriate dental education. We also encourage healthy snack choices and partner with families to ensure children have the tools and knowledge to maintain good oral hygiene.
SCREEN TIME​

At Rising Sun, we understand the importance of balancing screen time with other activities for healthy development. Our program follows guidelines to limit screen time and prioritize hands-on, interactive experiences that promote creativity, physical activity, and social interaction. We encourage outdoor play, imaginative games, and activities that foster learning without the use of screens, helping children engage in a well-rounded and healthy lifestyle.
FARM TO ECE

At Rising Sun, we embrace the Farm to Early Childhood Education approach by introducing children to the benefits of healthy, locally grown foods. Through hands-on activities, children learn about where food comes from, the importance of nutrition, and how to make healthy food choices. Our program incorporates farm-fresh ingredients into meals and provides opportunities for children to engage in gardening, cooking, and learning about sustainable farming practices.

WI SHARES
​​Finding affordable, quality child care is a challenge that many Wisconsin families face. But it's not a challenge families have to face alone. The Wisconsin Shares child care subsidy program invests in eligible working families to help make quality child care more accessible and affordable by covering a portion of their monthly child care costs.
FIS​
The MyWIChildCare EBT Card is an electronic benefits transfer (EBT) card that acts like a debit card. When a parent is found eligible to receive Wisconsin Shares subsidy benefits and requests a child care authorization, the funds from the authorization are loaded onto the card and are ready to be paid out to the child care provider.
NUTRITION​

Rising Sun actively participates in the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP), ensuring that nutritious meals and education are provided. This commitment to nutrition helps create healthier eating habits and a brighter future for all.
